Stykkisholmur:
The drive to Stykkisholmur was about half on dirt roads, but they were all in great condition. In fact, we found most all of the dirt roads on the Snaefellsjokull Peninsula to be in great shape. This sleepy fishing town was so cool to explore. We walked around by the docks and found an amazing lunch at Sjávarpakkhúsið on the edge of the water.
Kirkjufell:
We decided to stay close by to Kirkjufell in order to capture both the sunset and sunrise of one of the most iconic mountains in all of Iceland. We loved the Kirkjufell Guest House as it had floor to ceiling windows with a view of the mountain! We highly recommend this guest house.
Sunset at Kirkjufell was a little cloudy, but didn’t disappoint! We were very excited we stayed the night as we had a much different perspective and a super clear view in the morning.
